In many businesses, the POS stands on its own: the rota, purchasing and reports run elsewhere, and you have to bring the figures together yourself. The Lumigast POS is part of the same app – what you sell goes into the daily report, the order suggestions and controlling. It currently runs in demo mode; before live operation, a certified Cloud-TSE (the security module German law requires for tills) will be added and the set-up will be agreed with a tax adviser.
What does it do for you?
Faster at the table: search, favourites, “Repeat round” and courses with “Course away”
Tickets go to kitchen and bar automatically – to a display with a traffic-light timer or to a ticket printer
Payment the way guests want it: separately, by seat, split evenly or as a fixed amount
Cash drawer on the ticket printer: it opens by itself for cash payments – even with a tablet as the till, without a cable to the tablet. Only authorised staff may open it without a sale; every such opening is recorded and shown at the cash count (in testing)
Customer display: a second tablet or the till’s second screen shows your guests what is being entered – and after payment the receipt as a QR code for their phone. The small customer display on the Star ticket printer also shows items and total (in testing)
Scanning at the till: one scan enters the item; the till recognises vouchers and regular-guest cards by their QR code (in testing)
If the ticket printer runs out of paper or the cover is open, Lumigast shows this at the till and notifies management. Kitchen printers with a buzzer announce new tickets audibly – helpful in noisy kitchens (in testing)
Kitchen display without touch: operated with a numeric keypad, bump bar or foot switch – even with wet hands; the screen stays on (in testing)
End-of-day closing with Z report, cash book, cash count and DATEV export for your tax adviser
Till registration with the tax office: Lumigast compiles all details on the POS, serial numbers and TSE in the order of the ELSTER form, as a PDF for your tax adviser, reminds you of the one-month deadline and records when it was reported
Lumigast checks the POS export (DSFinV-K) at the push of a button against the tax authorities’ interface specification – files, formats, mandatory fields and totals – before anyone else sees it
Sales feed directly into the daily report, order suggestions and menu engineering
Device functions in testing: the connection is built according to the manufacturers’ documentation and is being tested with devices – the planned devices are the Epson TM-m30III and Star TSP143IV ticket printers with cash drawer, the Star SCD222U customer display, barcode scanners in keyboard mode, a bump bar and foot switch, USB card readers and NFC cards. The device app for Android tills reports the printer status and passes on the codes of built-in scanners from Sunmi and iMin directly; in the app, the pick-up screen and the kitchen display chime and announce numbers without anyone having to tap the screen first. Scales with a USB or Bluetooth connection are prepared. For the Stripe S700 payment terminal there is a separate version of the app – there your guests see the items and the total before paying, as soon as card payments start.
