The comprehensive operating system for hospitality:
from simple to complex
Lumigast: staff, operations and POS in one app. Start with the rota and grow all the way to the POS system.
A rota that knows the rules
The simple start: Lumigast checks working hours, breaks and the minijob earnings limit (marginal employment) while you plan, and the row of lights shows at a glance where someone is missing.
Your team signs up for shifts
Your team signs up for open shifts and swaps with your approval. You send targeted requests and call in on-call staff with one tap.
Time tracking through to month-end closing
Your team checks in and out on a phone or tablet, and at the end of the month the hours are checked, split into night, Sunday and public holiday hours, and ready for your payroll office.
HACCP without the paperwork
Checklists with readings, certificates with expiry dates and an inspection folder that fills itself as tasks are ticked off.
Purchasing, stock, recipes, daily menu
Ordering per supplier, stocktaking on your phone, recipes with cost of goods and one daily menu for guests, POS and kitchen.
A POS system that works with your team
The full set-up: tickets go to kitchen and bar, guests order via QR code at the table, and everyone pays separately, even by seat. All together from €49.95 per month.
Everything on your phone, also via Telegram, in every language your staff prefer
Management and team work in the browser on their phones, optionally with Telegram, and your team reads everything in their own language.
Which type of business?
Five starter profiles – one of them fits you.
Choose your type of business: you see a day with Lumigast, what is switched on and what it costs.
Staff planning for hospitality
Shifts filled before the evening begins.
Lumigast is the staff app for restaurants, cafés and bars: rota, shift confirmations, time tracking, holidays and month-end closing. Built for the phone, easy to understand for every team.

Staffing at a glance
One glance, and you see where staff are missing.
Instead of a calendar, Lumigast shows your staffing as a row of lights: one light for each person you need, four weeks ahead.
- Green means filled. The person has confirmed.
- Yellow means someone wants to work and is waiting for your decision.
- Blue means you have sent a request and the answer is still outstanding.
- Flashing red means someone is missing here.
Features
Everything a rota needs, and what comes after.
Made for the phone
For management and team, no separate app needed.
Each person gets an invitation link and uses Lumigast in the browser or, if they wish, in Telegram. You make decisions wherever you are, even between two tables.
ServiceBooked
ServiceAwaiting approval
Team view. Shifts, requests and holidays on staff’s own phones. Confirm with one tap.
Fri 9 Oct, 17–22, ServiceRule check: no issues
Management in the chat. With Telegram, requests arrive as messages and can be accepted or declined directly.
Check-in tablet. A tablet at the entrance is all you need. Staff log in with a personal PIN.
Rules at a glance
The app checks before you schedule.
Lumigast knows rules that matter every day in hospitality and flags breaches while you plan, with the reason. It has its own traffic light for this: green means no issues, yellow is a warning, red is blocked. If information is missing, it shows “cannot be checked”. The decision stays with you. Lumigast helps you comply with the rules; it does not replace legal or payroll advice.
- Maximum working hours, breaks and rest periods under the German Working Hours Act (ArbZG), including the shorter rest period allowed in hospitality and the compensation it requires
- At least 15 Sundays off per year
- Minimum wage per hour
- Minijob (marginal employment): Lumigast projects the whole year, not just the month
- Night work under § 6 ArbZG: at most 8 hours, longer only with compensation
- Short-term employment: 70 working days or 3 months per year, counted from the rota and recorded times
- Youth employment protection (JArbSchG): working hours, breaks, rest periods, evening cut-off, Sundays and vocational school days
We maintain statutory values with the date from which they apply. What comes next is listed in the roadmap.
Deliberately not
What Lumigast does not do.
A staff app collects data about people. That is why our rule is: only what the business really needs.
- No GPS tracking and no photos when checking in
- No rankings, no punctuality rates, no rating of employees
- No diagnoses: Lumigast does not ask for the reason when someone reports sick
- No advertising and no selling of data
Roadmap
What comes next.
New in October 2026: the software for stage 1 is finished – the complete package for small businesses and new openings. Recently added: reading in suppliers’ e-invoices, your subscription invoices as e-invoices, the till registration with the tax office and the connection of ticket printer, cash drawer, customer display and scanner (in testing). Also new: five starter profiles from cafés to catering, the overview of obligations and records, the kiosk with pick-up number and stage 3 for groups and chains. Still to come: testing with real devices, card payments directly from the POS and the POS in live operation with a Cloud-TSE. The roadmap shows how far each workflow has got, level by level.
Who is it for?
- Restaurants, cafés, bars, takeaways and caterers – including new openings
- Also groups with several locations, a central kitchen or franchisees
- Around 10 to 25 employees, one or more areas
- Full-time, part-time, minijobs, casual staff, apprentices
- A payroll office or tax adviser that handles payroll
